Founded in 1521, Spiegelau is one of the oldest and most famous European manufacturers of fine crystal, located in the small town of Spiegelau in the heart of the Bavarian Forest. Purchased in 2004 by Georg Riedel, owner of Riedel Glass Works, the Spiegelau brand has become synonymous with quality stemware.
The modern Spiegelau glassware is made using the platinum glass process, whereby any impurities or imperfections are eliminated by passing liquid glass through platinum tubes. This results in glasses that are durable and dishwasher friendly, yet retain the elegance of crystal.
